Work on Climate is a volunteer based website that is fostering a community of professionals who work in the climate sector. It is designed for innovators of every aspect to get together in one central place to share information, post jobs, and access information on the sector.

A new brand for Work on Climate had been already composed, and it was my job to translate that to a new web experience, modifying it as I saw fit.
I worked to keep the essence of what was created, but modified the text to be modern and legible. Some of these posts could be quite word-heavy so I wanted the text to be wide and easily scanned.
Work on climate went with a natural looking palette with pops colour to keep things bright and bold. I worked to bring contrast and interesting design elements into an environment that could be considered quite dry.

Ux and Wireframing
The biggest issue with Work on Climate was organising their large amount of information in a way that is palatable. They have many long blog posts and technical lists, so making things simple to scan was at the forefront of how I wanted to display the information.
design
With the prototyping done and the web styles set in place I began designing. I worked diligently to emphasise text styles to make sure that the website would be visually appealing without an over-reliance on image assets. We used the best practices for ‘green’ design, and kept things minimal, reducing power consumption on the server side.
